SRS code 9007 - replaced buckle - still there - 2004 SL55

Hi all:

I have been searching for a solution to this - hoping someone has some sound advice.

Issue: I have the SRS light on - error code via my scanner (iCarsoft MBII), scanned and found SRS error code 9007 - open circuit or short in left seat belt buckle sensor. My indy shop scanned and had the same code - advice was to unbolt the seat / replace the left side seat belt buckle - a fairly common issue is what I was told and simple.

I ordered a new buckle from Mercedes Parts - received new genuine buckle. Replaced and SRS light remains on. I have verified the connection is correct / plug is seated, pulled the front plugs / cleaned all the contacts. Scanner shows the same error code. I have tried to erase, I get the same message that the code erase is unsuccessful (code is current and stored).

Assuming the fault was in the control module under the drivers seat (where the buckle plugs in / next item in the chain) I ordered a salvage (ebay) under seat module - it has the same P/N and the seller even had me send my VIN to insure it was the correct module for the features my car has.

Replaced the module - new buckle in place - same issue persists, everything on the seat is functional, so I know that everything else on the module is good or seems to be - I get the same error code, 9007 - same fault noted and cannot erase.

Am I doing something wrong? or is the fault downstream? Is it possible it is in the big cable bundle / chassis bundle that comes up from the floor under the seat? I found the wiring diagram and it looks like the next stop is the SRS module in front of the gear lever in the center console. Replacing that bundle looks very rough.

Any suggestions or experience from the collective wisdom of the forum greatly appreciated. Hoping against hope that one of y'all tells me I'm an idiot and this is easy... do this....

Best,
Jeff

Were you able to solve that SRS error code 9007 on your SL55? I have the same error and the seat belt buckle sensor is good, so I'm curious about what else it can be.
