Hatchet job complete!

Finally got my cooling system split. Install wasn't too bad. Wish I would have bothered to remove the bottom tray and put a bucket to catch everything. Needed to get a 3 way T in addition to the union provided with my kit. I think this is because the SL already has an additional heat exchanger? Find out soon enough I guess. I got the expansion/overflow tank from Project B5. It seems to be of good quality. I had to "fab" that bracket, as I didn't see a nice spot to mount the thing.

for the record, I did not want that vent port connected to the main cooling loop. for some reason I thought the factory bleed lines wouldn't be pressurized.

Any measurable improvement in IATs? I was thinking of doing water/meth injection to lower IAT's for drag and half mile runs.

So this is far from exact.

75f ambient on the last day I logged. cruising IATs were 117f or so. they hit 127f @ 3k rpm w/ 10.4psi.

Since then I: replaced IAT sensor, divorced cooling system (duh), put a shorter belt on so less slip.

I
*should* be seeing like 13-14psi now. Ambient temp is 57f, and I peaked at 116f. Went from a stop to ~75 mph.

I'll need to do an actual datalog, the new results were just glancing at the live data on my scan tool.

I was looking at IAT and boost data from drag racing I did last month and my IAT at start was 126 F. I don't recall exactly but I think ambient was around 70 to 75F. My system is stock but I did replace the circulation pump recently with Bosch unit.

IAT increases fast, up to 160F by the end of a quarter mile.

yeah my temp at the start of the run was 86-89f, so splitting the cooling system does seem to have had a measurable effect.

I have an additional heat exchanger to get installed. I really need to get my front bumper off, I just hate dealing with body/trim panels so much.
