Carbon Fiber Door Trim Peeling Away

Just noticed an issue with the passenger-side upper door trim peeling away. Was curious if anyone has run into this before and what was a proper fix?

There is no apparent impact damage and it appears the trim, or carbon-fiber cover, is simply pulling off the backing material which curves in, slightly, toward the front near the window switch.

From the side there is no apparent warping but, from a top-down view, you can clearly see the trim panel pulling away.

Thanks, in advance, for your feedback.

thats the way most interior pieces are made. they are cf glued onto a panel. If you dissemble the whole thing, then clean and sand the fabric part and the cf part, glue them back with a epoxy or maybe a gorilla glue and clamp them togather for a couple days it should go back.

I ended up pulling off the door panel to be able to take off that trim piece. Turns out the carbon fiber overlay was barely sticking to the underlying trim panel so I pulled it completely off. Then used JB Weld plastic bonder (link below) to attach the CF overlay to the trim piece after I had sanded and roughened up the glue surfaces. Time will tell if it will provide a suitable bond.

That sounds like the way to go. You could use any good epoxy. Time makes the oem glue deteriorate and let go. Especially if your in a hot climate

I'll follow this post. I tried like crazy to glue/JB Weld/etc the one back on my driver's side and finally just bought a new piece! Hopefully the leather on your instrument cluster cover doesn't start peeling away too. I had a lady try to reupholster that and it only lasted a few weeks. Now I'm back to having the bubble between the two humps.
