SL55 Gas Mileage
I'm looking for typical gas mileage numbers on SL55's - primarily from drivers in US. Can't find anything newer than a couple of threads from late 2002 on this forum.

I'm in the UK, and consistently get 19-20 and 22 on a long run, but our gallons are bigger and the octane rating is higher, so you will probably find it's more likely to be mid-teens in the US. Does depend on how heavy you are with your right foot.

SL55 Mileage
I don't do much urban driving, so I can't comment on mileage in that environment. I get about 17 on suburban and twisty rural roads if I'm not pushing it, and about 20 at a constant 80 mi/hr on the freeway with the top up.
When you're really on the throttle, it really sucks down the gas, as you'd expect from the mass of the vehicle and the output of the engine.

I get around 15mpg around town and 19-20 on the highway. At the track I have managed 6.8...and proud of it!!
Have a great day!

7 mpg when my favorite songs are playing
City, between 12 - 15; highway 18 - 19 most commonly.
Also, would a chip [such as Renntech/PowerChip] actually increase the mpg? If so, how much?

You're doing well. I don't keep a record of city/highway but the long term average is 20 miles per Imperial gallon (UK) which is 16.7 miles per US gallon and that's with more than half highway driving. I think cold starts, short journeys and city driving really brings the average down.

15 City average. You can get over 20 Highway if you use CC and turn off air.
Overall its about 15.4 for my car since last reset 3700 miles ago.
50% Freeway 50% City. Average Speed 39Mph.
