R230 SL65 Intermittent coolant leak help

Hey all I just finished up repairing some hydraulic ABC lines on my SL65 and have been noticing coolant leaks (unrelated to the ABC). The leak appears to be very intermittent. I have been trying to look up the hose part number and found it is connected to a coolant circulating pump. When I try to look up the hose and pump on EPC, I cannot find the same PN for the coolant pump. My car has A2308350564 on the pump and says AMG. But the EPC shows A2305010124, which looks very similar but has different PN. I have tried pressure testing both the intercooler circuit and the Engine coolant circuit but both seem to hold pressure which is odd. I would like to find out specifically what is leaking rather than just switching things out. I am suspecting the hose but since it is not doing it all the time, cannot confirm it. I tried activating the coolant pump using DAS also to see if it builds any pressure or circulates enough to drive the leak but still seems dry. Can't really tell if the coolant really went down either. My next steps are to just drive the car again to warm things up and quickly remove the bottom covers again to locate the leak. I know there are many of you that are knowledgable and may have other ideas to throw at me to troubleshoot this. Also the part number thing is a little weird .. I don't want to buy the ones in the EPC just in case they don't fit. I imagine they are the same thing but thought I would check here first. I have only found one other thread that references A2308350564 coolant pump anywhere on Google.

Here is a video of the issue. I wasn't super thorough on the video unfortunately.

Thanks

That's not what I meant. I said the actual coolant pump part number on my car does not match what is shown in EPC although it looks very similar. It is possible that I am looking at the wrong part on the car and want to be sure that what I am looking at on the car is what is shown in EPC. Also some times companies change the design of pump and hose together and you have to buy the new upgraded pump and hose. So was wondering if anyone here could shed any light.

Anyway, I took it for a spin again and took off the covers and again no leak ... very weird.

The EPC page you're looking at there is for the intercooler system, which is not what you're looking for. The intercooler pump is on the left/driver side of V12 R230s. Mercedes refers to the intercooler system as the "low temperature coolant system".

The smaller pump on the right/passenger side is for the residual heat system - you can set the HVAC system to continue to run after the car is shut off in cold weather and this pump keeps the coolant recirculating through the heater core, extracting remaining coolant heat to warm the cabin.

The EPC page you want is Heating and Ventilation > Heating Water Connection. The part number for that pump is 230-835-03-64.

The intercooler pump looks similar in the catalog illustration and in photos of the part by itself, but in reality it's a lot bigger than the heater coolant recirculation pump.

Thank you, Thank you! This is valuable feedback. I do appreciate your useful comments. I was suspecting that perhaps I was looking at the wrong area in the EPC. I will try playing with the stationary pump heater to try to actuate it and see if it does anything to aggravate the leak. However, I imagine if I pressurize the cooling circuit that it should leak out. Anyway, at least I know what I am looking at now.

I see you're in Houston. If you're ever in the Austin area, hit me up and I will buy you a drink ... cheers!
