I started developing a gurgling/percolating noise from behind the passanger seat area. I was told that it was the accessory fuel pump that was making the noise. Apparantly now there is a fix but it involves replacing the gastank.

Anyone else with this problem?

I changed the tank, but there is no fix. You get a different sound. This time its more like a spraying sound. I think the gurgling was better. Just ignore and blast your stereo

yes i have the same problem. Before i thought it was a dead speaker, then i went to the dealer and they told me it was the gas tank pump.

This was a well known problem on the 03's and some 04's. AMG did a run of new tanks just for this problem. I have an 03. Got the new tank after lots of screaming (took 6 months, waiting on a manufacturing run).

Problem solved 100%. Do a search on this forum. Lots of stuff on this from around a year ago.

ooooo... is this problem covered by factory warrenty? and how long did this take?

Apparantly there is a new gas tank that just recently came out. No more noise.

Covered by warranty. Almost a week for the whole job. Not a small task.
