Killed my Compressor Pulley Bearing...
While taking a drive for dinner on evening a couple weeks ago, the engine burped on accel. Drove fine but flashed up a check engine light. Scan said O2 on Pre Cat left side.
Ordered new O2 sensor. As I was testing and reading scans I heard unusual noise from engine. I open the hood and took off the cover. And the bearing in the pic was staring at me with many ***** missing. Ordered new Nachi bearing.
While it was parked I went ahead and ordered the 5 pulley set from VRP. Got them installed and I absolutely love it!
The engine sounds a lot more quiet with hood up. It always had excessive whine and ticking, ever since I purchased it in December. And now I know what that noise was...
Ugly smile...
Heated pulley in oven for an about 15 minutes. Put bearing in freezer for about 40 minutes. It almost fell into the pulley. No force needed.
The hard part about the pulley set was making sure I was using the right washer or spacer... Youtube helped a lot...

Well done. I expect to see more of this in the future with the higher pressure belt tensioners. I went through mine last year, did the pulley kit and went clutched 83 mm. Some exhaust on the schedule for this year. 👍
