2013 SL63 or 2017+?
Hi guys,
Would you but a mint low mileage (sub-20k miles) 2013 SL63 around $90k nowadays? Is it a good buy considering the 2017 facelift is out already and people generally prefer the newer design?
Has the FL improved significantly?
Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

I think 90 is retail for a 13, It would depend on how many options it has and how much you want it. A good new 17 with options will be 170k, basically new style bumpers and side skirts

The car is for sale here http://suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/de...9&pageNumber=1
They say it is accident-free but they told me in person it is after an accident. I would have to investigate more on this issue. It is also a Japan import so the price is lower than usual.
It also has a transmission drive plate issue ±2k USD problem the seller will take care of before the sale.
I believe it is this issue
http://www.wintonsworld.com/mercedes...stems-failure/
and this part
http://www.oemautopartsandaccessorie...1d72240e95271/
My color combo preference would be different than Palladium / Black but it's not an issue here. I'm wondering whether buying this 2013 SL63 now (before the winter) is a good decision or prices would fall rapidly by the next summer, esp. in the light of the next SL coming 2018/2019. Also, what are the potential maintenance issues with this 2013 model.

I dont know about the mkt in your country. I dont know how it compares.
But to me its not a very desirable car, it doesnt show many, if any options. Very plain, probibly a base model. Could boost value by 50k with all the options.
Plus you say its been wrecked, plus its from another continent, all very bad red flags.
I would never touch it
Seems like you could find alot of good cars to buy beside one like that.

What did you decide? Did you go with the 13 or the 17?
One noticeable difference between the pre-facelift (2013-2016) and the facelift (2017+) is the infotainment system. I believe the 17 got the same system as the rest of the newer cars do from Mercedes, which to be honest is a huge upgrade. When I sat in a 2014 SL63 I was considering buying, the navigation and the entire infotainment system reminded me of my mothers 2010 GLK she had back in 2010-2012. That was 3 cars ago even for my mom who actually keeps her cars for their entire lease term.

So much..... the average guy on the street wouldn't even notice the difference. I actually prefer the original. Sort of like the Ferrari 360 to the 430. Sometimes it's best not to tinker with the original design.
