New owner saying Hi!

Hey fellas,

Well, just picked up my first Mercedes today. Its an '01 SLK230. Got a pretty good deal from the dealership. It was an early Christmas gift to the gf and she will be driving it. I did have a question on the car. Does it look like the front end is lowered? Its sitting alot lower than some of the other cars I looked at. I just picked it up today and its snowing out right now so I really don't feel like crawling under the car but I looked at the spring and it was black(thought it might be another color if aftermarket). I apologize for the poor quality pics just wanted to get something on here.

regards,

Matt

That looks like it might be 1-2 inches lower in the front than mine. As far as looking at the shocks and being able to tell, unless they are stamped with the brand name or bright red/yellow/blue/white its going to be pretty hard to tell.

What size tire is on there?
Stock is 205/55/16 for the non sport model.

Hi there,

I'll go downstairs in a bit and check the tire size. I still think the car is sitting low in the front. Now to figure out why, lol.

regards,

Matt

Hey fellas,

I checked the tire size and its 205/55/16. Any ideas? Would it sit low if the struts are blown in the front? The ride is fine but it is definately low.

regards,

Matt

No struts has normal shocks and springs.
The springs sit in a rubber pad that MB uses to trim height. These sink a little.
Also springs sag a bit too.
It looks OK to me , about 1/2" lower than new. Just drive it
