Resetting service mileage?

I have to reset the service interval mileage the way the book wants, but it didn't work. any one got ant suggestions? It IS possible that I didn't do it right. I read the instructions multiple times, and even tried AS I was reading them.

This works,

Resetting fss

1 Turn key to position 2.

2 Within 4 seconds press button 1 twice.

3 The present status for days or distance is displayed. Within 10 seconds turn key in steering lock to position 0.

4 Press and hold button 1, while turning key in steering lock to position 2 again. The present status for days or distance is displayed once more. Continue to hold button 1.

After aprox. 10 seconds a signal sounds, and the display shows 10,000 miles for aprox. 10 seconds.

5 Release button 1.

Try this

Get in the car and shut the door. It sounds strange but for some reason the drivers door may need to be closed. Now go through the steps...

It works for my car, done it several times.

You have to be fairly precise in the execution.

Thanks for all the input guys. I finally pulled my head out of my *** and realized button 1 is the left one on the guages, not on the key fob.
