2002 SLK320's
I am looking at a pair of these: yellow/black with 7000 miles and black/black with 14,000 on the odometer. All the desciption says is CD changer & heated seats, but they both have wooden steering wheels and shifters. Anything in particular Ishould look for? Were there option packages then? Any input would be appreciated.

Most 320s heated seats. Look for headlight washers in the front bumper because that was an option. There should be a switch next to the heated seats for the washers. A 6 disk CD changer will be in the trunk if it has one installed. Most of the time that was a dealer added option. Otherwise they are perwired for one so you can add a changer. Wood trim was normal for the 320. There was an option to get the black wood trim like in the SLK32.

I love mine. I am glad that I got the 320 instead of a 230. That puts you in a 2001 to 2004 with the face lift body and the V6 has plenty of power as well. If you look at a Sport model they had a new body from 2002 to 2004 to match the SLK32 that came out in 2002. Some options were the 2 tone interior colors as well.

Kompressor or not, I like the V-6 better. In the E it's grat, I can't imagine how nice in the little SLK! Thanks again for the added info.

2001 SLK 320 , 1970 Chevelle SS
The one with all the options will have 6 switches in the center of the dash. 3 on each side of the hazzard light switch. If your looking for a car on the internet look at the pictures, and see if it has all the switches. The only options you can get are HEATED SEATS, HEADLIGHT WASHERS, CD CHANGER, SPORT PACKAGE-amg wheels.

They both have the standard SLK320 wheels and the lighter wood trim. It says the yellow one with 7000 miles has heated seats, but the switches aren't there; the black one with 14,000 miles does have them. Neither one has the headlight washing system. What is the red button/switch just aft of the outside mirror controller - garage opener? (They both have that.) They're at a dealer in the Chicago area, and I haven't talked to a saleman yet; they have that online chat feature, but I got the impression Vanessa was dealing with several at once and a nearby salesperson wasn't too helpful - quoted hp figures for an AMG. Thanks again to all for the help & info!

There is the switch to drop the top in the center console behind the side mirror controls. The garage or homelink is by to the rearview mirror. You will see 3 buttons up there.

The layout is similar to the E Class. I should've realized the Homelink would be on the mirror (like my 2000) or perhaps on the visor (as on my former '97); I also should've realized that there needed to be a "top dropper" as well...in my defense, I mixed too much alcohol with too many meds yesterday, and I wasn't exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer today. I'm fired up to get one of these cars! The only trouble is I have to sell the wife's Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder first (trade-in would be out of the question). As long as our mild winter continues that may help, but a couple of blizzards in the next weeks will prove problematic. I'm already scheduled to go to Chicago on March 31st to see Coldplay in concert - wouldn't that be great to pick up the SLK the next day? Thanks again - you are too kind with all the photos and info!
