wheel repair
hey, i was wondering,,,,,,,does anyone here know ofa place or a way to repair a "chipped" or "scuffed" chrome rim?
i have an slk and an e-class,,, the e-class has chrome wheels and one of them made friends with a curb and is now chipped a bit..
any suggestions?

From what I know about the chroming process, there is no way to "fix" a chipped area. The wheel would have to be totally stripped of chrome and re-chromed. I guess if you just wanted to keep it from chipping off more chrome, you could seal it with some type of clear coat product.
Maybe others will have more experience than I with chrome wheels.

that sucks ***,,,,the rim is perfect except for a .5 inch chip/flaking.....its a shame i might have to buy another 500+dollar rim..........what kind of clear coat can i use??? acylic??
