New here(few questions for experts)

greetings everyone.

i just purchase a 2004 slk 230 manual. i have a few questions to ask and would appreciate any help i get from members here.

1. can someone show me links to get air intakes for the car. ( how many to get, how to install and such)

2. what springs do you guys perfer to get?? (h&r, ibach, sport teach)??

3. is it possible to straight pipe a slk?

Very few people modify the air intakes on 230. Doesnt do much other than make noise and put oil film on MAF.

If you remove the cat, the O2 sensor won't work properly. You could probably go straight pipe from there. But I can't tell you how much power you'd gain...probably not much, according to rumour.

Best bang for your buck is an ASP overdrive supercharger pulley.

how about the k&n air filter pads?? is there any difference on changing these??

Nope. The stock filter is just as good, if not slightly better flow.

The oil on the K&N will damage the MAFS if not allowed to dry out some before installing it.

Yeah,
Don't waste your time or money with the air box mod, it doesn't do hardly enough to deal with that terrible whinning sound that makes the car sound like some cheap whind up toy. I'm putting mine back to stock b/c I have had enough of it already. Anybody want it for 50$?
