Rear view mirror gone nuts--
looks like the little rubber sensor that is in the center of the mirror fram is melting! Never seen anything like that...anyone else? Exactly where does the mirror sense the change in light? Thanks for any help...

What car is this on and is this the exterior or interior mirror? There are two sensors on the interior rearview mirror. The sensor on the rear of the mirror has to sense darkness and at the same time the sensor in the mirror glass has to sense bright light in order for the mirror to dim.
