'99 SLK230 with 17" AMG rims and 255?

Peoples my sis has a '99 SLK230 with an AMG sports pack orginally fitted to the car. The rear tires need replacing... I think the standard AMG rear rims are 17" x 8.5" but would welcome your confirmation.

She has Michelin Precedas on the front and whats to put them on the back. These Precedas come in 255 and not 245 which was the orginal spec. Can anyone confirm they will fit?

Thanks.

2002 SLK 32
I have 255's on my SLK 32, but consider going smaller on the SLK 230. 255 wide tires are really to much tire for the engine, and can actually hurt performance. When I had my 230 I ran 225's all around with the stock wheels, and had a set of 225's on a spare set of wheels for track and autocross. The car just doesn't have the "grunt" for the bigger tires. The larger tires also add more understeer to a car that already has enough of that.
If you want them just for the looks, well then that's a different story.
