autocrossing and tires
Hi
Anyone else autocross their SLK? I'm looking for tire and tire pressure suggestions. I'm a relative newbie autocrosser, running my 01' SLK 320, currently on (stock) street 225/50 R16s. Last event I used 40 psi front / 38 psi rear, felt pretty balanced but there was a bit of understeer. Think the car was outperforming the driver :-)

Your tire pressures are good, but monitor them as the day goes on, they will likely go up, and you will need to bring them back down.
I used to have Kumho V-700's in 225/50 R16's on a spare set of wheels, they worked great. I understand that their V-710's are better yet.
I'm currently running Toyo RA-1's and I'm not ready to form a judgement on them yet, but they don't seem as sticky as the Kumho's were.
