cd changer?

Does anyone know where to buy just the bracket to mount the changer in the trunk?

Are there any instuctions available on exactly where and how to mount it?

Do you have to remove the radio or is the power connection already made?

CD Changer

jedirabbi, i'm right with you.

I just purchased a CD Changer (eBay) and mounting bracket (dealership). Of course the two don't fit together.

Hello,

I think the dealer caries a newer smaller model of the changer and a new smaller mounting bracket for it only.
Has any one tried the velcro idea? How secure is that?
Also where did you guys find the black power cable for the changer in the back. I’m having some difficulty find it.

Thanks

CD changer

I'm going to take back the smaller bracket to the dealership next week.

I think it's best to have the correct mounting bracket for CD stability and resale.

As for the black power lead – there was one already in place. The prior owner had a changer and removed it – cheap Bas*&^d.

Well i finally found the black power cable and its right under that motor for the power roof. It was nicely tied with some black electrical masking tape.
Well I still can’t figure out how I’m going to install this think with out the right mounting bracket.
If any one knows a site or place we can purchase it that would be great since the dealer don’t carry the older type bracket anymore.

Question

You can buy the mount bracket from autoclass.net. I paid around $90.00. I installed the CD changer by myself, but the radio can't recognize it saying "no cd changer". Any idea before I try a local dealer?

The velcro didnt work for me.

My stereo sometimes comes up with the message no cd CHanger too but it goes away in a few mins when I turn it off and then on again. I suspect it may be the connection.

Does the CD changer work at all in your case?

Yes, you have to swap the cables on the back of the head unit.

Check out the instructions for swapping the cables at

Thanks Brian.
Actually I figured what happened. It was bad labelling. Previously I connected the optic cables labelled CDC-IN/OUT to the radio but it didn't work, the radio saying 'no cd changer'. Then, I found a thread mentioned that he had a bad labelling. So I tried to different cables. When I hooked up TEL-IN/OUT to the radio, it just worked fine. Before, I suspected the radio reset/reprogramming. I even brought my car to a local dealer to reprogram the radio. They were not sure what was wrong with the radio and said I don't need to reset the radio, but ask me bring my car back some other time for full-blown investigation.
Anyway, everything is running fine. I don't need to bring my car to the dealder to spend money or reprogram the radio. I jsut enjoy the cd sound.
I spoked to Gaston in autoclass.net, he said he will have a cd changer installation manual from local dealer. Anybody interested in, call him (786-412-0302).
