SLK/R170: On a SLK 320 would a auto or stick do well?

On a SLK 320 would a auto or stick do well?
I've herd alot about how the manual trans. is very bad and has bad shift points. I am thinking about buying a slk 320 but not sure if i should pay extra for the auto trans.

Suggest you drive both and decide which one you like better.
Personally, I prefer the MB touch-shift automatic because I have a choice of manually selecting the gear I want, although it is not as direct as a MT.
By the way, unless you love to clutch and shift...remember you can never shift faster a modern automatic.
If money is no object, go for a SLK32 with a sportshift automatic. It is the best of both worlds.

You can shift faster than most automatic transmissions. A automatic sort of eases or slurs into the next gear, whereas with a manual, a good driver can nearly instantaneously shift into the next gear.
