Loaner Cars
What are dealers' typical policies toward loaner cars? I thought I remembered hearing a lot about that when buying mmy SLK, but that wasn't what I was focusing on so I don't remember it too well. Are you supposed to get a loaner car for free when you drop off your SLK for service at a dealership?
Thanks,
Bryan

You have to book WAY WAY in advance in order to get a loaner at my dealership. I got a 2000 C230 Kompressor as a loaner free of charge. I was told that some dealerships dont offer loaners.

Loaner Car
I got a loaner car when i took my 320 in.
BUT, it was not a MB. My local dealership has a rental car (hertz) booth in the service area - loaner rental car. (FREE THOUGH)

Loan car policy varies from one dealer to another. You should always call in advance to book an appointment and request a loaner car at that time. From my experiences with different dealers, they will treat you "nicer" as far as giving you an earlier appointment if you bought the car from them.
My dealer (HOI) always send me to Enterprise rental car next door to get a free loaner. I was always offered to choose either a E class or the new C class when my CLK is at service.

Yep
Took my 02SLK320 in this am for its first scheduled service and to fix a few bugs. They have an agreement with Enterprise who have a bunch of new Buick Regals available.
As a result the drive to work was boring this morning - for the first time in months, nobody tried to race me.

The loaner car I get when I put my SLK into service is usually a Camary which is why I usually do not ask for one. But one time, I was able to get a C 320 stationwagon, personally, it was far better than a Camary considering the fact that we drive Mercedes Benzes. If you buy a Mercedes, you should get a Mercedes as your loaner--and to answer the question of the first message, yes it's free. If I remember it correctly, you have to pay about $45 a day 16 or 18 hours after they notify you that your car is completed. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Ask for a loaner when scheduling your apointment, also ask for a Mercedes loaner. Or else they will stick you with a econo car... like a sebring....
