Dream SLK???

How about this for a dream SLK....

The BRABUS SLK V8 6.5L (based on SLK320).

Brabus 6.5L V8 (331kw/450PS)
Brabus Aerodynamic Kit
Brabus Custom Mastik Blue Leather Interior

0-60 in 5.2seconds (yeah, read it and weep!)

I suppose you want to know the asking price?
It's a steal at $200,000

Anyway, the pics....

Is that 0-60 time accurate ? AMG's SLK32 has been reported to be in the high 4's (usually 4.8), so a 5.2 sounds kind of slow in the tuner aftermarket space. . .

That's their claim. I can't confirm it.

But you're right, on second read, a 1.5s improvement in the 0-60 doesn't sound that good value for the extra $150,000.

Not a bargain when you can get to 60 in 4.5 seconds in a Mustang Cobra Convertible for under 40K.

'02 SLK32 AMG
The price of the Brabus SLK V8 was around $160K the last time I read, but the exchange rate has become worse since then, so it could be a bit higher.

I don't know where you got the 0-60mph info, but Brabus reports their 0-100kph(62.1mph) time as 4.7s on their website.

Obviously, the SLK32 AMG is a better buy since it's 0-60mph time is 4.8s (from MBUSA) and has been tested as low as 4.5s (Car and Driver magazine), and it costs only $55K.

yes i can agree, the police interceptor is different than a regular crown vic. i have many mods i did to it. i can also agree that Ford is a POS auto maker, but would rather have a ford over a chevy. i run a 16.012sec 1/4 mile at 88mph.

^ my car at last weekend's 35-car meet.

Nice car! What is POS???
I used to have an Impala SS, stock it would run 15.4, when I sold it it was running 12.6 (NOS)
What have you done to your car?
I have a friend that has a 98 and wants to get rid of the slow response on transmission and beef up suspension, What can he do?

well my car was the grandpa model when i bought it, since then i have added a police EEC (PCM) computer for advanced timing, faster shifts, higher rev limiter, and different fan settings for cooling. i threw out the single exhaust that came with it and added a new h-pipe and 2 dynomax glasspack mufflers, currently without tail pipes. i've done a ram air intake modification that forces air into the air box into the engine (works well!). i also put on a HPP package rear sway bar 21mm for stability which helped a lot! and this weekend i'm removing the clutch fan and shroud to reduce engine drag and compartment clutter.

POS = piece of *****

your friend must have the grandpa version crown vic, well tell him to join www.crownvic.net , people there are excellent and know the cars up and down left and right. your friend can get dual exhaust put on, a chip installed, 3.27 or higher rear axle gears and many more things. tell him to join those forums, they can help him a lot!

OMGosh it's a cop better slow down.... i hate crown vic's on the street, always thinking they are police..

Didn't car and driver rate the SLK 32 AMG at a 4.5 second 0-60 time?... It was a video somewhere on this forum. While the SLK 32 is 50 grand compared to the 200 grand 5.2 second brabus SLK. Haha great Bargain!

~Edit~

Just noticed someone already brought up the slk 32.... oh well
