Dimming mirror
Hi!
Does your passenger (right) mirror has dimming properties?
My left and middle mirrors are dimming mirrors not the right one.
Thanks in advance.
Happy 2003.

Yeah the PAX side does not dim, also if you look on the back of the rear view mirror you'll find the photo sensor that dims the mirrors at night.

I was hoping there would be some sort of a switch. I have had several cars (Jeep Grand Cherokee & Subaru Forester) all of which had a button which will active/deactivate it.

I had an experience with the dimmimg rearview mirror once in a C230 as a courtesy car. I personally think it's too dark for safety. It felt like looking through a very dark tinted glass. And all i could see were dots of headlights from the cars behind.
I agree there should be switch to deactivate this feature, becuz i find it much safer to drive without it. In my 98, I can still flip down the mirror for dimming.
As for the driver's side, I don't think there's need for dimming, becuz you really need to see the cars clearly in it, not just 2 dots of lights.

Interesting - both our car's dimming mirrors seem to work well - just the right amount of dim.
The ML has an on-off button, but my C32 does not.
The tape idea should work, though.

I agree that sometimes it seems to over-dim.
Just an idea, but if you were to cover the sensor with some semi-opaque material (say, two layers of scotch tape) you should be able to adjust the sensitivity. I am sure there are more attractive ways of doing this, but this idea should work.
