98 SLK for wife

All,

I have come across a 98 SLK with 29k miles for my wife, in great shape except for a little wear and tear on the inside that I can clean up. It has an extended warranty for about 2 years and 30 k miles. I can get it for around $26.5k. This seems like a great deal, but just wanted to see what this board thought. Thanks

Actually, it sounds like it's at least $3K too high, and that's accounting for mileage and extended warranty.

price seems ok to me

Based on Kellys Blue Book, the price you got seems fair. They range from about 25,500 to 27,500 depending on condition of vehicle. Those in lesser condition are going on the lower end of the spectrum. You still have 30K warranty and two years so thats very good and has some value. I wonder what kind of warranty they had to begin with that last for 6 yrs. I see 4 and 8 yrs only. Good luck with your purchase. Post some pics when you get it.

Sounds like a good price. And it still has the warranty, so that's good. Good luck!

Thumbs up not bad...

hello,

i actually just bought a used slk too (1999), and i paid a little more than 26k... the price of your car seems quite fair. I hope your wife enjoys it... i am really happy with mine.

is there a year to avoid or anything like that? or are all the years good? i vaguely remember that the manuals were vastly improved one year but not sure exactly when.
