Question Anti-Tow Feature, How exactly does it work?

This feature does not have an explanation about it in the owner's manual as to how it works, only how to disable it. How exactly does this feature work?

Thanks!

This is what I was told:

When the vehicle is tilted (i.e. lifted on one end to be towed), the brakes will lock so that the wheels won't roll.

Of course, most tow trucks are the flat-bed type, now, and it's no problem to drag the car 10 feet up onto the bed.

Thanks for the quick reply. Good point by the way about the flatbeds!

Also, if the car is lifted while locked, the alarm will sound. Disabling the Anti-Tow will prevent the alarm from sounding.

The brakes have no way to lock themselves. The anti-tow sensor arms when the alarm is set, making a note of the vehicle's angle when it was parked. If the angle of the car deviates from this position more than a preset amount, such as theft by towing, the alarm will sound. You turn this off to voluntarily tow the vehicle, or when the car is on a surface subject to movement, like a ferry or train.
