did the SLK ever come with HID from factory?

I would have to say no.

I bought a set of OEM MB Xenon's on Ebay, however my non-Xenon SLK does not have the 3rd 4-pin connector for the auto-leveling motor.... but one of them showed up DOA anyway so I haven't even been able to drive around and see if the lamps are aimed properly with no auto-leveling.

Hopefully the wise one, Brian_R170, will add some insite to this thread. :-)

of course the auto leveling you bought from e-bay will not hook up directly to your car. a HID housing and a halogen housing are totally different and all the wirings. i just want to know if a SLK ever came with HID from the factory.

did your HID set you bought came off an slk?

Yeap, it came off of an 2002 ///AMG. I got them to come on, but down have the wiring harness for the autolevelling. I have a membership with alldata.com so they have electrical diagrams and the pinouts for the auto-levelling connector.

i asked you if the slk ever came with hid and you said no, now your saying it came off a 2002?

I bought the HID's from someone who previously owned a 2002 ///AMG that had the K4 package. The Xenon HID's ONLY come as an add-on package when originally ordering the vehicle. The vehicle was in the rear end, so they are selling parts from the front of the vehicle.

The HID's are NOT a "standard" feature like the cruise control for instance.

The answer is starting from 01, the k4 package offers the factory HID as an option with that garbage headlamp washer, something i can never make use of. I hope that clarify things.
