SLK/R170: Remove console? pls Help!!

Unhappy Remove console? pls Help!!

Anyone know how can I remove the console to replace the mirror switch? Heeelp!!!

I don't have the complete answer, but this may help.

There is a small flap at the bottom of the storage bin in the console. Pull this flap back to expose two screws that secures the back of the console. Remove the screws. This will allow you to raise the rear of the console, which was all that I needed to do.

I couldn't find complete instructions for removing the entire console, but to remove the trim by the gearshift lever the repair info I found suggests using a couple of wedges (with Mercedes part numbers, although they don't look to be anything special). I'm guessing that once you removed this trim, other fasteners that secure the front of the console would be exposed.

You'll find the hardest part will be removing the parking brake rubber handle. That should be a category for the World's Strongest Man competition.
