SLK 99 - Convertable Hydraulic Cylinder problems

My headliner started to leak so I removed it and noticed a leak coming from the top lock Cylinder shaft. I cut the two hydraulic lines that go to it and replaced the top lock Cylinder. I used brass compression fittings to reconnect the two hydraulic lines together. I filled up the Hydraulic fluid in the Hydraulic Cylinder. I operated to top and I am getting bursts in the black 3/16 Hydraulic lines. I'll repair the burst area then operate the top again and then another line bursts - Then the top hydraulic system looses pressure and leaks at the area of burst. The lines won't hold when I try to operate the top.

So could the pump be giviing out too much pressure? Is there a pressure regulator in this Hydraulic Cylinder? Are the 10 year+ old flexable black plastic hydraulic lines shot? I can't seem to figure out what to try, replace or do. I see a kit on ebay that repairs the pumps O-Rings but I have Hydraulic lines blowing out.

Anyone have any ideas on what I should try?

Thanks for your time...
