What is this? Picture
Hi everyone. I bought a 99 SLK230 from my boss here in the US.
He sold it to me really cheap, but I just want to fix a few things and sell it next month.
Under the battery tray I seen this connector juntion on the firewall, it has a small hard hose coming from it and the hose is broke, and I don't see where it connects to in the engine bay.
What is hose for?
Thanks
Richard

Thanks for the reply. I never seen a car with such a things, but I never had a car like Mercedes either. I'll have another look and see if this makes sense.

I traced that the hose went to part# 1708050019.
I've seen it called a Vacuum Tank Dashpot. I guess I need to connect the hose under the hood to a vacuum source, which might mean I have a vacuum leak to the engine too. Maybe this will explain why it takes about 3 minutes for me to feel cool air out of my A/C, and I know I have a good R134A charge,
