It is Tranny time - what ATF to use?
What type or brand on ATF do I use in my 2000 SLK 230? It is time to do it, and I do all the work myself, already have the tranny dip stick. What flavor should I use? Thanks in advance. Bobby

Anything that meets 236.14.
Shell/Pennzoil ATF 134
Fuchs 4134
Mobil 134
MB Transmission fluid from dealer.
You can also use the 236.12 or 236.10 spec fluids in the 722.6 5 speed, but the latest backwards compatible fluid is the above. May get better milegae also...

Be sure to replace the filter
www.autohausaz.com has them and the gasket
Temperature is critical when refilling
and working is a dust free dirt free area when the trans is opened up is more than critical.
722.6 fluid diy is on www.benzworld.org w210 section
