Just changed my brakes and I have a few questions.
I just changed my brakes (Dealership brakes) due to the brake pad indicator light coming on whenever I brake. So I decided to buy Akebono ceramic brakes to lessen the brake dust. Anyone have any opinions or experience with Akebono brakes?
I also decided not to bleed the brakes after replacing each pair of brake pads. Should I have bleeded the brakes?
What are the advantages or disadvantages of bleeding the brakes after installing new pads?
After I have placed the brake pads, I took it for a test drive and the brake pedal feels softer than before. Would it be because they are ceramic brakes?
Please give me your opinions.
Thanks

the fluid should be flushed every 2 yrs. it absorbs moisture over time and its a cheap diy. the brakes may feel a bit softer until the pads are bedded in but the akebonos are a great pad.
did you spec the rotors to see if there is enough rotor left ? if they are worn past specs that would add to the softness

The rear rotor's depth was fine. The front rotors are different. I'm not sure if the front rotors have a groove on the outer rim which makes the inside part (where the brake pads hit) about a little over 1/16" deep but not as far as 1/8". Is that normal for the front rotors? Or should I replace them?
The rotors could have used some refacing but we decided it should be fine with new brake pads.
Also the akebono pads squeek a lot when reversing, is that normal for ceramic pads?
