I am having serious problems with my 1999 slk, last year when the car failed to start the garage after 6 months work the independent garage discovered the alternator was running at massively high revs which had caused pretty much everything to blow resulting in amongst other things a new ecu. Now the diagnostic has shown a mass communication failure, the car runs fine apart from the fan being constantly on but all the warning lights are on on the dash and none of the dash works, speedo, rev counte,r milometer etc. The garage has even said the diagnostic has shown an error with the ecu which is less than a year old. Does anyone have any info or ideas having experienced a similar issue???
