What Makes An AMG
Hello All,
We have a 2001 SLK320 that has AMG on the wheels. Could this be a first year SLK/AMG or maybe someone just put AMG wheels on the car. What else would indicate this year SLK would be an AMG version? I don't see any other written indicators.

There is an AMG/sports package on the R170, 17 inch rims, different brakes, lower suspension & body work and a few other things.
and theres the AMG version of the car, Higher performance engine, amg badges on the seats, + the above mentioned items.

Best would be to call your local MB - Daimler Benz AG, ask for your SLK's engine build info, they will need your VIN no:
