Exclamation OEM MB Center Wheel Caps, BLACK or BLUE?

Check this out, I just ordered a staggered set of ///AMG Double Spoke Chrome rims, was wondering what would look better on a chrome wheel,

The OEM Mercedes-Benz Star and Laurel center wheel cap in BLACK http://mb.parkplacestores.com/mercencapsta1.html (comes on the new G-class), or in BLUE ?http://mb.parkplacestores.com/mercencapsta.html

When voting, please keep in mind my SLK is Brilliant Silver.

Thanks in advance!

IMHO, it depends on the color of the interior. May I suggest black if you have black inside or blue if you have light gray.

My opinion: Definitely go with Black.

FYI, the black caps were standard equipment on US-spec '02 C32s and '02 SLK32s. I believe they changed to the chrome star with silver background for '03, though.

The blue caps were actually designed especially for the SLK in 1996 when the SLK first started selling in Europe. They are called "SLK-style" caps in the European catalogs.

You can also get full-chrome center caps via the aftermarket. They're on Ebay fairly often. If you ordered the rims from Tirerack, they'll come with the chrome center caps.

How do you like the rim Brian? Will a chrome wheel like this go nice with Brilliant Silver, and not be overkill?

It's pretty sweet that they even make the ///AMG wheels that come on the SLK32 in chrome! I got the front (17 x 7.5) for only $399 a rim and the rear (17 x 8.5) for only $419 a rim at the Tire Rack, that's like DIRT cheap!

I like the double-spoke AMG (Styling IV) wheels. They are definitely my favorite AMG wheel, although the new E55, CLK55, and CL55/S55 have a slightly different variation of the Styling IV wheel that I think is a modest improvement over my SLK32's rims.

There is a Brilliant Silver SLK32 with chromed wheels I see fairly often at lunch. It's not overkill. The chrome is actually less flashy with silver than it is with black, which is the color of car you most often see with chrome rims.

FYI, neither Mercedes nor AMG makes any wheels in chrome. They are all chromed aftermarket (even the ones you see in Mercedes dealer showrooms). Tirerack has the original AMG wheels stripped and chromed.

Tirerack's prices are excellent. They charge only $100 per wheel for chrome. Mercedes dealers tend to charge $200-$300 per wheel extra when they install chrome rims on a new car.
