99 slk 230 throttle issues - help

My 99 SLK 230 has a problem with the throttle. The car starts and idles but when you press the gas - nothing but idle. I replaced the TPS Throttle Postion sensor with 2 used ones and the replacements didn't change anything. What other part/sensor could be preventing the car from gaining rev/rpm? Thanks for any help or info you can provide....

Check OBDII for fault codes.

If you are into swapping vs code reading, the pedal sensor(under hood at the end of the throttle cable), and the motorized throttle body would be where I would go, removing battery cable for several minutes after any changes...

I had a similar issue ... and it was the pedal sensor ... the unit that interprets your pedal pressure into an electrical message and sends it to the brain, which after checking witht he G factor sensors and the Traction Data, decides if you are in the propper shape to handle the increase in speed. ... is the description that I walked away with.
I may have hastened the component failure ... maybe not, but I had just slapped my foot to the floor (at about 55mph) 'to request accelleration' and maybe a downshift ... but instead nothing happened ... 3 seconds to the floor before gentle increase in speed ... not fast enough to refer to as accelleration. It was enough to get us home and to the shop.
