Hello all I also recently purchased a 1998 SLK 230 with
the top inoperative due to leaking cylinders. I rebuilt the two
main ones and roof lock one and got it working pretty good. Last week I noticed the trunk lid opening slower and now finally today it tried to lift and failed 1/4 of the way up. The pump does sound like its trying but barely opened the lid like no pressure. I hit the button back to close it and it does. No visible leaks and oil levels good. Doesn't sound like a micro switch issue to me
Anyone have any suggestions.
