SLK/R170: No Acceleration

2001 E430, 1999 SLK230
No Acceleration
Have a 99 SLK . 140K miles. Was driving it last night and as I was moving down the road the car started to slow down. I pressed the gas pedal but it would not do anything . Engine was running ,no lights came on. I coasted till I found a place to pull over an stopped the car. I restarted it and it started fine and I drove off as if nothing happened A few miles later it happened again. Car will run when sitting but when one tries to rev up engine othing happens .I drove the car a few miles and it happened again. I pulled off the road and shut it off. Restarted it and it ran fine all the way home this time. Still no engine lights no noise from engine . No CEL. Nothing . Runs and idles great except for this . I changed the MAF about 2 weeks ago after a CEL came on . I changed the fuel filter as well . I have done nothing else to the car except for regular maintenance. I have checked things but I am not sue they will have any part ofthis issue. So, I come to the site to get hel. Any insight into this will be appreciated. I have no idea what to do next. If the check engine light is on have the codes read.
Then post the codes & more people will chime in with a fix.

placed the TPS 2 weeks ago. Its still doing the same thing. It boggs down when the accelerator is pressed. It starts and after abit it happens again. I drove it about 30 iles after I changed it and all was well. Next time I drove it about 10 miles and when I stopped at stoplight it bogged down. restarted but was constantly bogging down . Till I could get it off the road. Could it be bad fuel injectors? Car starts and idles fine but driving it is another issue.

MAF the common defect on this model as per your symptom its either the MAF or the ASR switch located on the engine compartment where the accelerator cable is attached. A plug on the Star should be best to guide you and a good mechanic who have experience will make you save a lot of unnecessary part change
