body work?
has anybody looked into extended their fenders? for instance, adding a flare or wide body ? i think thats what i am getting at.
are wide body kits available? who makes them? is it the whole panel piece or an add on the fender?
all suggestions will be appreciated.
i have hre wheels on my slk320, but have little rubbing when i hit some thing big in the roda or bumps etc. no rubbing when driving on smooth roads. light rubbing on sidewall.
how about smalle tires? but i don't think i can go any lower.
here is my specs:
18x8.5 et35 225/40/18
18x10 et35 255/35/18
thanks in advance.

1. Roll your fenders.
2. Make sure your offsets are correct.
The SLK runs fine, lowered, with 235's up front and 255's out back on 18" wheels as long as the above 2 items are done. I think it can run 245's and 265's, again, with the proper wheel ofset for these sizes.

you should be able to run 265 in rear without rubbing.
That's what i run in the back, no fender rolling require as long as offset is correct. I forgot what my offset was.

I don't know about doing a wide body kit replacing the body panels (ARNST makes, but don't know how much, if anyone does, please post the price). I ask a body shop before about just re-painting the SLK, they actally advise me against it. They said the slk body panel wrap into the inside of the car. To paint it properly, most of the interior trim will have to be remove in order to paint it properly. Has anyone repainted their entire SLK a different color.

thanks
hey guys,
thanks for all the nice replys.
as for the fender trim, there will be modification to stock fender correct? you get the fender trim painted then underneath you have to cut?
or do you replace the whole panel?
i think i will get my fenders rolled professionally, that will fix everything.
as for the wax, i use meguires , all steps!
in this pic, i just waxed my hood, a month ago. need to do the rest soon.
one more thing, i thought i just throw this out there. i wanna sell my lcd screen that was custom made in my cupholder tray. this thing slides and works just like your stock tray , but it has an lcd. it flips up manually and hold with a pedestal in the back. very durable. it took about 20 man hours to make, this thing was custom made by my installer, took him a month and half to engineer and create this pup w/o my car there. ( too busy to go the shop). i would like $350, but this is negotiable. if you are at all interested let me know so i can give more info.
thanks.
