I am dating someone with a 1999 230 SLK Kompressor. The system is not charging, the repair shop says about $900 for a new alternator. I am trying to play the hero here, but am not comfortable digging into the engine without a manual. I have worked on older trucks, TR6, Volvos....neve a MB. SO, a few questions:
Can I easily remove the alternator from below, or do I have to remove other things to get to it?
Can I replace the voltage regulator with everything in place?
Any thoughts/suggestions/work sequense info would be greatly appreciated
