1999 SLK230 washer

Hi everyone, Just joined and need assistance with fixing the windshield washer not spraying. The motor works as the headlight spraying works. I believe it uses same pump. Have also removed motor and tested directly to battery and pump works. Washer fuse is also intact. Anyone have this problem and can advise on repair. Had an idea of redirecting hose that goes to headlight to go to windshield as the button for that works. Is the problem in the multifunction signal switch or somewhere else? TIA

I purchased a push switch to attach directly to washer pump as a temporary fix attaching wires to accessory fuse for power. I was anticipating fluid to eject out to the windshield when depressing the switch but instead of that happening, the headlight washer spray ejected fluid instead. I was happy that pumped worked but not to right location being the windshield. Is there another pump that controls fluid to the windshield? Any help is appreciated. TIA

There is a separate pump for the windshield washers. It is on the side of the windshield washer reservoir.

Much appreciation for your response. I did not remove reservoir as I was able to remove first pump that was visible and did not notice a second pump. Will remove reservoir before it gets to cold and check and replace 2nd pump. Hopefully its not the multifunction switch or worse.

Update on repair. I was able to remove the windshield washer reservoir and found the second pump to windshield. Purchased pump from mercedes for $49 installed it and problem fixed. The multifunction switch was also functional. Thanks to CarolinaBluetec for your response.
