A/C compressor will not engage

My 2000 SLK230 AC compressor will not engage. Is there an easy way to force the compressor clutch to engage? Does anyone have the pinouts of the climate control module harness?. I'll like to apply 12v to the compressor via the climate control harness. Also is it possible to add freon from the low valve when the clutch is not engaged? There seems to be ample freon in the system, but no way to tell when the compressor is off.

You can look into the 2005 Crossfire service manual http://www.jodykrivohlavek.com/_docu...ice_Manual.pdf for troubleshooting info.

Make sure the fan is running when you turn on the A/C. If the fan doesn't start neither will the compressor.

Fan is on and dials are at maximum cool. I just measured voltage at the compressor and it is at 8.8v with EC on or off. Could the climate control be faulty or are there any sensor(s) I could check first.

Does anyone know how to replace the evaporator temp sensor in R170? Pics will help.
