slk 230 kompressor
slk turbo promblem
Hi guys
My slk 230 Kompressor developed an fault, lack of power and bogged right down when accelerating.
I found oil all over the MAF sensor and a corroded hose on the oil separator that I though was probably causing it so i replaced the hose and cleaned the MAF with an electrical contact cleaner.
However now my slk runs well with no problems accelerating but..... when i use kick down for over taking there is little or no boost the car accelerates but not as quickly as it should and it takes alot longer for the revs to reach the red line. Im guessing the 0 to 60 is about 15 seconds....much slower than it should be...
which made me think there is a problem with the supercharger/turbo.
any ideas?
thanks

Sounds kind of how our 230 Kompressor ran when the gas pedal position sensor went out, it requires the whole pedal assembly to be replaced, but its not too hard to do on your own. I think we got a check engine light though when we had that problem

Clean the MAF with MAF cleaner from CRC or other well known brand, and clean the piping to the MAF and the throttle elbow. All parts should be clean and dry before install into the car.
Reset the bypassvalve as below:
1) Ingintion off and push valve to fully closed mode in 5 seconds.
2) Ingintion on in 15 seconds and you hear the bypassvalve close/open
3) Ingintion off in 45 seconds
4) clear trouble codes and start the car.
If not, try dissconnect the - battery for 15 minutes, reconnect and start car. Let car idle for 5 minutes before you drive.
Good luck!
