SLK/R170: SLK + TAHOE = Totaled

Such a beautiful car destroyed, and is your hand okay?
Do you have pictures of what happened to the Tahoe? What about the next car your going to get?
So many questions, if I get annoying just tell me I hope your hand gets better, and remember, it was only a car, at least no lives were lost.

Sorry about the lack of info, but its my right hand that is broken, so its hard to type. The Tahoe had minor fender, bumber and misc. damage, but the both air bags deployed, whiched totaled his vehicle. None of my bags went off, i think I broke my hand from steering wheel vibration or from the twist??? I believe my hand was the worst injury, I saw the other people leave the hosptial with no visible injuries.
As for a replacement, I hope to be driving my winter beater until spring and then start looking again. I would love to know exactly how many 2000 SLK Designo Copper Edition are in the country and if any are for sale. If i can't find another one I may go back to a 4x4, possibly a Chevy truck and get a Fiat spyder for the summer.
Thanks for the concern, i thought peope may want to know how a SLK takes on a front side collision. I think it did well all things considered.

sorry to hear about that. Suv's seem to like hitting small cars go figure. I've only seen one or two designo copper SLK's in my whole life. However, i've only seen one Citron green C-coupe. So i suppose both are very rare colors.

IT"S NOT TOTALED!!!!!
The insurance people left me a message today, the car has $12K in repairs, but that's not inspecting the engine or transmission. I wish these people would make a decision and stick with that.
Also, what should I do to make sure I get MB parts instead of generic brands. I am going to make a point to see reciepts for all parts. I also will make a point to have the entire car repainted so it all matches. It was in great shape before the crash, I want it back in the same condition.
I know of only 2 copper designos in New England, Mine and the one around Boston area. I have seen the Green Designo on 95 in RI too.

Thanks, I'll have to keep a tab on that car just in case the body shop doesn't put mine back together just right.
Did I ever mention that MBUSA got back to me on how many MY2000 Designo Copper editions are in the states. MBUSA told me that there is 127 or less of these cars in the country.

AAAhhh I seee. I am using a progressive certified body shop and I made sure the parts on the list were all MB. They actually brought the car to a local MB dealer to figure if they missed anything. Also, when a Power Steering Pump cost like $500, it's definitely a MB part :-)
Thanks
