SLK230 start error, yes I have searched
Ok, so after doing search after search it seems that most people have simple fixes, new battery, key ring cylinder loose, battery in key fob, etc. Mine is a lot more complicated than that and here is the story about it:
I drove the car home from church on a Sat morning, started fine, drove fine as it always has. Got home, parked in the driveway, went to move the car into the garage and start error with nothing else, no turn over, nothing. The dash lights up, the fob worked to unlock the doors. I first checked the battery, voltage and test charge ok (it is a MB battery about 1 year old) Starter pulled and checked, transponder ring around key slot on dash replaced with new MB part. New key ordered and tried from MB dealer, no go. I am out of ideas. It can not be the CPS as that would at least turn over, pretty familiar with that part as it is a regular breaking part on the E55. K40 relay checked all joints good, all fuses in all 3 locations checked. Both key fobs re-synced a few times, battery pulled over night. I am running out of ideas. I have the module behind the cluster pulled (1708201826) that is about my next idea, Thoughts?

Read the fault codes from DAS. Make sure the unit behind cluster gets ign power. Then u maybe correct and need to replace it. Nor cheap I might add but they do give trouble!
