Thumbs up Nice Surprise and Question....

I just picked up my SLK320 this weekend and i found a nice surprise - built in Phone Cradle option in the arm rest. Is there any way to change the cradle to support the MB V60 phone?

Thanks.

Also, i noticed that there is about a 1 second delay between when i press a button like "change track" to when the track actually changes.
Is this SLK specific since I do not notice this on my C320 COMAND unit.

Cheers!

I've noticed the CD changer delay in both an SLK 320 and an ML 320. I'm not sure what causes it or the reason for it though.

It's normal to me

Yea, I believe delay is normal, too. I feel it's longer than 1 sec.

Yes - delay is normal. And I actually like. In my other car when I try Ito skip thru couple of songs - HU tries to reposition head after every click and that’s gets annoying.

If the phone was a factory option, you would have to change the PSE module in order for it to support the V60. In 2001 the PSE module only supported the Star Tac/Timeport.

Late in 2002 production (crica Mid 2002) the newer dual mode PSE started to be used which supported the Timeport/V60.

If the phone was added later on, there is a possibility that you may have the dual mode PSE, however, in that case I would imagine you would also have the correct v60 cradle as well.

Although the 98 SLK is a sweet little roadster, and the original body style will surely be around for a long time as a classic - I must say the dials on the dash make the car appear dated.

My husband and I think the dash of his SLK would look so much better with a new face - I know COMAND is not an option with the R170, but has anyone change the dials or face plate? Are there interior mods that will bring up the dated appearance of the dash?

I know he swings by now and then but he has been quite busy lately as he is in the US doing lots of work on the west coast. Perhaps we can have a sticky thread created where we ask him questions. Mods?
