Has anyone eliminated ABS on R170?
My saga of fault codes and lights continues, but I thought I would ask...
In-so-far as my 2001 SLK is on a snow/ice-free island with a maximum speed of 50KPH (30mph), very few roads and limited distance, I really do not need ABS. In fact, with my Toyota I cannot think of a single time it kicked in.
Is it possible to disconnect ABS from the electronic monitoring system?

have you tried unplugging the ABS module to see if any of the other systems freaked out? It's the big unit under your brake booster that has all the brake lines screwed into it.

While I drove the car with the power disconnected to the ABS pump, the brakes worked fine and I couldn't tell any difference under normal driving.
