SLK/R170: HELP WANTED

HELP WANTED
Hi Folks, I am an avid MB fan and still own a 2005 E320 CDI ( Love the diesels driving them since the 1980,s) and more recently purchased a low mileage 2001 SLK r-170 that is only used summers.
My problem is the 2001 roadster would not start this spring. I tried to fix it without the proper tools and knowledge. Read a lot and started with an inspection of the k50 relay box. Re soldered a bad connection and the Condo Management read the riot act about working on Condo property. My problem is where to take it
1. Is there a place that caters to DIYers that has the proper instruments to read fault codes?
2. Is there someone you would recommend to do the work.
3. Would like any suggestions but would prefer to keep the conversation private.
I live in Norfolk, Va and up to 35 mi from area code 23503 is good.
Would be nice to find someone to do all the normal service and repair. Thank you an advance
