SLK/R170: Remote lock beeps now

Remote lock beeps now
I just had the 2002 SLK320 in for a service because the theft alarm apparently went on and the light on the tow alarm disable wouldn't go off.
They seem to have fixed it, but now, when I use the remote to lock or unlock the car, the car beeps. Not the horn, just a buzzer thingee.
The car didn't beep originally. I kind of liked that. Just the blinking signals to tell you it had locked or unlocked.
Does anyone else have this beeping? Is this a new feature? Is there a way to turn it off?

Mtiede, I got my car back from the delear a week ago after normal service and I just noticed that the light on the tow alarm is lit all the time. Do you remember how the dealer got that to go off?
