'99 SLK 230

98 230 questions

I am currently looking into buying a mint 1998 SLK230 from a friend of the family (only 23k miles, garaged, summer drive only, etc.....mint)

I read a lot of the posts in this forum, so I have a pretty good idea of what to expect and look out for.

I have 3 questions for those of you that drive any of the early SLKs:

1. Can I fit golf clubs in the trunk (obviously would have to be with top up)

2. I'm concerned about the lack of a tilt wheel. Is this uncomfortable?

3. How is this car as a daily driver? (granted, I am in school and will only be daily driving from April - Sept, occasionally on weekends the rest of the year)

4. Although I know you're all biased, how would you compare the 98 SLK to a 97-99 Boxter in terms of comfort (both seat and suspension/damping) and cargo space?

I can't fit drivers in trunk, it is great to drive daily, and it is a littel quicker(faster)then box... also easier to change oil and spark plugs compared to boxster.
