SLK/R170: Oil inside of front of top?

68 Datsun 2000 and 98 SLK230
Oil inside of front of top?
I have a 1998 SLK 230, it has about 22k on it.
Inside the top where it connects to the windsheld, it is puckering close to where the screws are. If you touch it, it is oily! I removed the three screws to see what might be causing the problem but could not see anything.
Has anyone else ever seen this?!

Yes, it looks like wrinkles , or the substraight under the inside of the top is shriveling.
I live in Florida and thought that the heat might be causing the material to sweat. Since there is a lot of petrolium products in the car (rubber, sponge material, etc) I thought that this might be the cause of the oily substance.
