I am getting close to purchasing the slk350. I was wondering if someone could elaborate as to what service is required by the manual. Also, the cost of such service. I just want to know I can afford to service it once I get it!

Well when you think about it, 170 bucks for an oil change that im sure includes Mobil 1 synthetic, and the fleece filter, isnt all that bad, when you compare it to jiffy lube, where you have 75 bucks every 3-5 thousand miles and they do crapy work. Ill take a 170 buck change any day, esspecially when it only has to be done every 13K miles, at least in the 350. Doesnt sound that bad to me. Apples to Apples with jiffy is 13K miles would be a minimum of 3 changes at 75, would be $225 bucks, so ur actually saving money, not to mention the fleece oil filters work much better.
I too would not want Jiffy Lube touching my car. However, I'm pretty sure they only charge $20 or so. For $75, I'd expect Jiffy to do a hell of a lot more! I haven't seen the owners manual, but if you only need a change every 13k miles; I agree that it is a small fee for such a car.
Do you know about other maintenance and cost?
Thanks in advance.

After spending $57,000 U.S. for my car, I'm not at all concerned about the cost of a dealer oil change.

You can get an oil change for around $25 but if you want synthetic you are looking in the $70's. My jetta would take 6 quarts and would cost about $75.00, Originally Posted by dsb

Agree and I don't think Jiffy Lube has the factory fleece filters. I won't chance the warranty but will check on what else this service includes. I know the dealer charges more but I always have them go over the details of what the will do and did. Besides, that is a lot cheaper than the Harley dealer charges for a much smaller engine!
