Post pics of SLK350 aftermarket parts

Lets start a threat of what mods people have added to their cars. From Upgrades to add-ons to Exotic parts. Post your pics of what youve had done with where others can get information on where we can get the parts.

to start this thread I have installed the eisenmann 4x83mm dual racing exhaust on my SLK 350 w/ AMG package. Also had the widows tinted 25% all around

You can find my car's pics on here: https://mbworld.org/forums/slk-class-r171/103680-finally-pics-350-1st-round-add-ons.html

1. AMG trunk spoiler
2. MB front bumper add-on lip
3. MB rear bumper add-on lip
4. OE windscreen
5. Smoked tailights
6. Smoked third brake lights
7. Brabus door pins
8. Philips 6000k d2s
9. Osram Diadem signal bulbs

Mods ordered but not yet arrive:

1. AMG F1 steering wheel

Mods will order within the next month or so:

My car

I've only made a couple primarily cosmetic mods to my car including:
1) wheels 18 X 8/9
2) door pins
3) windscreen
4) rear lip spoiler (not depicted)
5) rebadge rear (not depicted)

I plan on the following:
1) ipod kit
2) slightly tinted windows
3) aerowings
4) thermotronic aircon
and if I get a big bonus...
5) an engine upgrade (exhaust, kleeman, etc)

Great looking car dsb. You know what else I would do if I were you? Get the SLK 55 hood airvents with the silver slits. I think that would make your car look even better, and I don't think they are too expensive. Great job so far though!

Could you take some interior shots?

Thanks for compliment. I didn't include interior shots because I figured most have seen it. Here's one anyways... not the greatest though.

Smoking rims....are those the AMG ones or the knockoffs? How much do they weigh, and do you feel any decrease in performance?

How much did the windscreen cost you? Did you get it from your dealer?

Thanks for the interior shot by the way!

Phybenz & Vantage,

Yes, they are replicas. Real thing cost too much and besides a small AMG stamp, cosmetically they are the same. I had the 5 spoke AMG 17" wheels prior and made the change recently. I don't notice a loss in performance but do feel more stable cornering. The tire/wheel weight increased by 5lbs in the front and 3lbs in the rear; note below. Also, I did have to use a 5mm spacer in the front to clear the brake caliper. Phybenz, I got the windscreen throught a friend. He sells Dodge cars and had another friend that worked at MB. According to him, the new retail is $750+, cost is $425. I paid $450 plus tax. Funny, that is the original retail price! Anyways, I hope this info helps...

Original AMG 17's
front weight -45 lbs
rear weight -47.5

17 x 7.5 -23 lbs
17 x 8.5 -25.5

225/45/17 -22 lbs
245/40/17 -22

Replica AMG 18's
front weight -50lbs
rear weight -51

18 x 8 -26 lbs
18 x 9 -27

225/40/18 -24 lbs
255/35/18 -24

Axis brand. $750. Not bad. Total was about $1700 for wheel/tire/acc.

Dwei, Very nice. Liking it alot. Few questions for you...
-Where did you get the colored reflectors? I would like to get clear instead of orange.
-How much was the exhaust? Do you notice a power difference or is it more of an audible difference?
-Did you replace the rear lamps or apply a tint? Cost?

PS, I like the rear end... I mean your car's rear end.

DSB:

1. I had my body shop paint the orange relectors black when they were modifying my rear bumper for the exhaust.

2. Exhaust is $2000. No power difference as this is just the muffler. Brabus makes a pipe for the SLK 350 which will increase power. However, its not sold in the US because of emissions. Perhaps you can get it imported? As for sound, it is definately deeper, but only slightly louder than stock. I expected it to be louder than it is. If you want something louder, go for Eisenmann.

3. I replaced the rear lamps. I got it through r171.co. It was a very good deal...500$ for a set of tailights as well as the 3rd brake light.

On your second point, any weight savings? Or does it actually increase weight?
